When they arrived, Duncan was sitting at the bar talking to Joe. Both men turned to greet the young couple. Joe was the first to speak, I didn t expect to see you out and about. Not tonight at least. Well, I had to get out for a while. , Megan answered with a smile. Any idea who did it? , Joe asked. Actually, I know exactly who he is. His name is Mason Rodgers. , Megan said taking a seat. Mason Rodgers?! , Duncan said, obviously surprised. You know him Mac? , asked Richie. Heard of him. How did you know it was him? , Duncan questioned. He told me. He said to tell Richie that Mason Rodgers was looking for his head. , Megan answered. I m sure he was. , Joe broke in, Mason is notorious for that. The quickening has become an addiction for him. He s beheaded every immortal that s crossed his path. Great! Now he s after me. , Richie said. Megan s face turned serious, Do you think he knew about me? No. , Duncan said confidently, But when he finds out, watch your head. Joe is mason just that good?, Richie wanted all the facts if he was going to be dealing with this guy. It s not that he s good. He doesn t fight fair. He s got the same type of style that Xavier had. He likes to shoot you up, then take your head while you re down. , Joe explained. This guy sounds like fun. , commented Richie. We just have to find a way to beat him at his own game. , Megan said. Hold on! Where d this *we* come from? This is my fight. , protested Richie. Yeah, but he murdered me. , Megan snapped. You haven t even started training yet. Let me handle this one. , said Richie. Hey! You two calm down. , Duncan broke in, The best thing would be for Megan to stay out of it. He doesn t know about you and you need to keep it that way. I came here to relax. I guess now would be a good time to start. , Megan said as she walked toward a table. Thanks for the info. I ll see you guys later. Richie said as he followed her to the table. Mason would choose Richie to harass. Just as he gets his life together and finds someone to share it with.
