This is first attempt at fan fic and I appreciate any and all comments. I've written stories before, but this is the first time I've actually posted anything. I post what I have finished. I am not finished with this story at the time of this posting. I will only have access to this computer for about one more week. I know I will not finish in time and therefore * if you would like to get new parts to the story after that time send me an email and I will work out a snail mail system.* *Warning*: This warning has been placed here to inform my readers that there is language that some might find harsh and vulgar. There are also scenes where there is material of a sexual nature, or where it is implied. It will be implied in the first parts because I have finished them. The rest of the story is not yet finished. That said. Read on and enjoy! Thanks, Emm ;-D *Warning* This scene contains violence and harsh lanuage. Addiction (part three) By Emm Megan sat on the couch, her knees pulled close to her chest. She reached for the bowl of popcorn next to her feet and grabbed a handful. Just as her hand reached her mouth there was a knock on the door. Startled, she dropped the popcorn in her lap. She brushed the mess into the floor as she headed for the door, promising herself she'd clean it up later. "Just a minute.", she called as she stumbled over a pillow in the floor. She opened the door and came face to face with bad news. Mason Rodgers met her gaze from the hallway. He shoved his way into the apartment grabbing Megan by the neck. He slammed the door as he pushed her back toward the couch. "So your boyfriend isn't home now hey. Well that's too bad because I only make one house call.", he said throwing backwards onto the couch. Megan didn't speak. She just drew her knees up close to her body in defense. Mason walked over to the television, "Sorry, were you watching this?", he asked as he picked it up and threw it at the wall. Tears rolled down Megan's cheeks from fright. He continued to destroy the apartment, smashing everything in site. Mason suddenly turned on Megan. He grabbed her arm and drug her to her feet. "Sweetheart, tell your boyfriend that Mason Rodgers is looking for his head.", he said squeezing her arm. He was hurting her, and he enjoyed hurting people. Mason tossed her to the floor like a toy. Just then out of the corner of her eye she saw a glimmer. It was Richie's sword. She scrambled to her feet and took off toward the bedroom. She had almost made it to the chest where the rapier was leaning when Mason caught her. She felt like a rag doll as he flung her backwards by her T shirt, ripping the neck apart. "You little bitch!", he yelled as he threw her towards the end table. Megan's head smashed the lamp as her body came crashing down on the small table. She was able to get to her knees, before he came at her again. This time with more force thanbefore, "I'm gonna teach you a lesson you ain't never gonna forget!" He threw her almost limp body, full force against the wall where the TV had been. She hit with such force that one of the pictures left on the wall smashed to the floor. She slid down the wall and came to rest behind an overturned chair. "Women. Nothing but trash!", Mason said as he left the destroyed apartment. Megan could feel the slow warm rivers of blood of blood running down her neck and face as she lay helpless on the floor. It was mid after noon and she knew no one was in the building besides old Mrs. Waterman on the ground floor. Even if the poor woman could hear, Richie's apartment was five floors up. He'd be back any minute now, and Duncan and Anne would be with him. If anybody could help her now it would be Anne. Thoughts flooded her mind. The things she had done and those she would never do. Finally, her heart took over and all she could think about was Richie. Whenever they left each other, they never said goodbye. They always said "I love you." Today she had brushed it off when he said it. He didn't seem bothered by it. He'd done it too on occasion. Now that single moment would be the pain that was with her at her death. She knew it was coming, why fight it? Then she realized if she could just stay alive long enough to see him one last time, the battle would be worth it. Megan never made it. The darkness had won. Richie knew the was something wrong the second he saw the open door, "Megan never leaves the door open." He ran into the apartment screaming her name, with Duncan and Anne close behind. Anne spotted the blood on the wall, "I think I found her.", she said as she headed for th spot. Richie threw back the chair that was in the way as Anne checked for a pulse. "She'll be alright won't she?" he pleaded waiting for Anne's response. She turned to him and he knew by the look in her eyes. It stung, as if someone had slashed his heart with a razor and rubbed salt into the wound. When he found that someone he'd make them pay for it. Anne got to her feet and walked to where Duncan still stood. "I think you should go home. There are some things I have to handle here.", he said seeing the sadness on her face. "I know.", was her answer and she was gone, leaving him with the grieving young man . Richie knelt beside Megan's body and pulled her close. He was no stranger to death. It seemed to take away everyone that loved him. He examined her wounds and wiped the blood from her face. His tears fell freely as he let go of his emotions. Duncan crossed the room, and knelt beside him. He should have told him earlier. Duncan knew. He didn't know how, he just knew. She was special. She was destined to be immortal and soon she would cross the line fate had drwan in the sand. He began slowly, "Richie, it isn't as bad as it seems." "What?", Richie replied between gasps for air, "Mac how can you say that? She's dead!" Duncan stood up and walked away, "She's immortal." Richie looked down at her face with renewed hope, "So now we wait." "No." Duncan replied, "Now you wait. She'll need you when she wakes up. she'll need your knowledge, your strength and your love. Explain it to her as best you can. If you need me, you know where I'll be." With that he left him alone to wait. Richie picked Megan up and placed her on the bed. He got a damp cloth and began washing the blood off her face and neck. He placed the cloth in a bowl on the bed side table. Suddenly there it was, the sound he had waited for. Megan's eyes shot open as her lungs filled with air. It was painful. Her entire body hurt. She couldn't understand why she was here. Like a miracle, he was there leaning over her. "You're one of us now.", he said as she sat up. "My head hurts." Megan replied rubbing her temples. "That's how you know another immortal is around. It'll help you keep your head." He didn't look her in the eye. He didn't think he could. "What do I do now?", she asked, turning to look at him. His eyes met hers, "We have to start your training. You won't always have someone around to protect you. You have to do it yourself. It'll be hard, learning how to kill, but you have to, to survive." Those final word drove the point, painfully, into her reality. Everything her life had been was gone. It was a chance to start over. The chance she had wanted all her life. Addiction part four will be out when I finish it. Soon I hope. o H / "No Man Can Be My Equal!"
