"Oh, sorry. I really should watch were I am going." A young red-headed said to the tall blond man she ran into. "No problem miss" the man told her. "Bye." the woman waved as she hurried away. ===== "Wonder why she was in such a hurry?" the blond man, who's name is Nick Knight, asked himself. Nick watched as the woman got into a green convertible and drove off. Just then, Nick heard police sirens draw closer and decided to check it out. When he arrived at the scene, he heard his partner Tracy tell Captain Reese "I don't know where he is, Captain. He's on one of his solitary trips again." "I'm right here." Nick tells the two, making them jump. "What's up Trace?" Tracy pointed the sheet covered corpse "The victim was in some kind of fight. The murderer beheaded the victim. People noticed some type of lightening a little while ago also. Which is strange, considering that there's no clouds out." "Hmmmm. Anyone know what the other combatant looks like?" "Well, this is a dead end alley, so the murderer had to leave from that end." Tracy tells Nick while pointing to the mouth of the alley. "We're asking around now." "Detective, we think we may have something." an officer yelled from the alley entrance. When Nick and Tracy got to the witness, they saw that he was a pot-bellied man in his 40's. After the detectives introduced themselves, the man tells them what he had seen. "Well, a few minutes after the light show ended, this red-headed girl comes out of the alley and starts to hurry away." Tracy asked the man if he could describe the woman. "Yah, she's about 5'5" to 6', got red hair, was wearing jeans and dark boots and a dark bomber jacket, could be leather. She left that way." The man pointed in the direction Nick came from. "I ran into a red headed woman fitting that description right before I got here." Nick told Tracy. "Think she could be out murderer?" Tracy asked. "Could be. Let's put out an APB on her. Let's see... she was in her early to mid-twenties, had green eyes, the jacket _is_ leather, and the boots are black, she's also wearing a green shirt. She drives a green Corvette convertible." Nick told Tracy as they get back to the precinct. When they arrive at the precinct, Nick and Tracy split up. Nick heads to the morgue, while Tracy goes to put out the APB. ===== "Duncan, I need to talk to you." Joe Dawson said into the phone. "Then come on over Joe." Duncan McCloud replies. When Joe arrives, he notices that Richie wasn't there and asked where he was. "He's out and about." Duncan replied with a shrug, "What's the matter?" "Kelnoff was beheaded by an unknown immortal last night in Toronto." Joe told Duncan. "What do you mean, unknown immortal? Didn't he have a Watcher? Or don't you want me to know who killed Kelnoff?" "It's a female immortal Duncan, one we've never seen before. And she's good, very good. Kelnoff's Watcher thought that she had ninjitsu training. I need you to help me find her." "Why Joe. You've got her description, she shouldn't be that hard to track down." "It's not that simple. Fore some reason, Kelnoff's Watcher couldn't get a good look at her. In fact, we only know that she's a woman, about five and a half feet in height, and that she fights with a metal staff that has blades that extend from the sides at each end." "She fights with _what_? I never heard of any immortal who fights like that. Maybe she's a new one, and that's why there isn't a Watcher in her" "I know, Duncan. Will you help me?" "Yah, Joe, I'll help you. When do we leave?" "Is tomorrow night to soon?" "No, that'll be fine." -- Cousin April -- the Ninja Babe with an attitude Born to make normal people's lives a living hell. aruskin@edge.ercnet.com "Faciemus ut Dewus Mountainus e Tuo Nasone Exeat!"
